Secret Six is Love.

The Awakening is pretty awesome.  It stirred a lot of feelings in me, so I think I will end up writing my application essay on that.  Poor Kate Chopin, outcast for being ahead of her time. Of course, she was liek OMG into the Confederacy, so not ahead of her time in all ways.

..Yes, I was surprised someone could have been feminist and supported slavery. It shows my narrow mindedness, since it's not like that's impossible.

Also, I forgot that while I like Art Class, I sort of hate it as well. Because everyone in the freaking class is better at Art than me, and it makes me feel all hopeless.

But screw that, onto comics.

Supergirl #33

I got this because of the Empress. I was sorely dissapointed because the story was bad, the art was meh and Empress was a total tool. Oh, Young Justice curse, you are so cruel.

Since when can Anita do force feilds and crap? Her magical abilities in YJ were teleportation, temporarily paralyzing people and once she did a locating spell, but it required her to do a naked voodoo ritual.

And since when is she dumb as a post? She should have KNOWN magic could cancel out magic. The Anita I know is smart, INCREDIBLY bad ass, resourceful and doesn't take crap. She would not have let meh villian with cliched origin play her like that, and would have thought up a plan.  She wouldn't have let anyone knock her around.

How the hell did meh  villian know Anita's secret ID anyway? Or did I miss that?

And when did she and Supergirl meet anyway?

God, poor Anita. First being turned white on occasion, now this.

The art was decent. I hope the new team saves this book.

1/5

Secret Six #1

THIS is more like it. Oh, I love you, Secret Six. Oh, I love you, Gail Simone. There was so much to love about this: Nicola Scott's fabulous art, a very intriguing set up with Junior, Deadshot's always lovely snark (I love how he called Catman on totally abandoning those two people in peril while saying he wanted to be a good guy and Blake's response "Dammit!" showing it didn't even register. Oh, Thomas. I love you, you crazy SOB) I mean, how Thomas and Floyd carry on a conversation why people are sticking guns in the back of their heads? And Floyd voicing what we all suspect "I think you like her because it's the closest you can get to doing Batman?"

Then Ragdoll adorably trying to cheer up poor Scandal and Bane just standing there and stating the obvious. And Knockout hallucination! Her random outburst "I AM A NEW GOD! DEATH SHALL NOT DEFEAT ME!" was perfect.

I'm intrigued to who the new female character will be, and why Batman is involved in this.

Oh, and Huntress appearance! Seeing Huntress drawn by Scott is always a treat.

5/5. This was good comix.

S'all for now.
