It is hiLARIOUS. And it always amazes me how Alfred can be awesome in ANYthing. And despite some objections I will bring up, there are some cool things about Yvonne Craig Babs!girl. First, I love how her red hair is part of her mask and she actually has short dark hair. Disguise saavy! I love how she's always ninja vanishing on Batman and Robin and they're like "Where did she go?" In this show, Batman is no ninja vanisher, he says goodbye to Gordon and walks away. But Batgirl always vanishes without anyone seeing, leaving them all stunned and midsentence, EVERY SINGLE TIME. I just love that she's allowed to be sneakier than both Batman and Robin combined.
And it's made clear how smart she is. She's an expert on history, and Batman has to go ask her as "Barbara Gordon" about North Asiatic history and stuff, she figures out all the Riddler's riddles without a problem, prompting Jim (who just isn't the same without the mustache and specs) to say "Smart girl!" and she recognized that the Riddler isn't a foriegner by his CHIN! "That doesn't look like a north asiatic chin!" (SERIOUSLY, Oh, such camp)
And just like in the early comics, she doesn't know Batman and Robin's identities, but they don't know hers either. Alfred does, but only because she thought he was a preacher and trusted he could "keep her secret as a man of the cloth"...it's all very weird and complicated. And the girl's saavy enough that she has her own secret compartment complete with motorcycle in her apartment, she had to be smart to build that crap.
She's sassy too. She likes to tease Batman and Robin and give groan worth quips to each villain, and just like Batman and Robin, it's clear she's having fun. When changing back into Babs Gordon after saving the dynamic duo as Batgirl, she says "I'm sorry to be so helpless" and smiles.
On the other hand... it's astonishingly sexist. On the DVD commentary for BTAS, a show creator said he specifically wanted Babs to slug somebody, because on the old TV show she'd always stand on a table and do dainty kicks. I thought this is weird, why is kicking allowed but punching not? But it's TRUE. She never, ever punches anyone. She always climbs on top of objects and kicks the thugs from up there. Either that, or she hits them with a stray object. But no punching. It's really noticable because she's in every episode, and she does it every single time. And the kicks really are quite dainty and ballerina like, probably due to the heels. I find it weird that apparently there was a ban on women punching thugs, but kicking is okay (I imagine she always climbed on top of stuff to do it because high kicks are very hard...at one point, Robin does hoist her up on his back to allow her to kick someone).
Also, Batgirl will say random weird crap pertaining to her feminity. Like in response to "It's lucky yow were there Batgirl" she says "A woman crimefighter has to rely on luck."
...What does that even mean?
And there's at one point when Batman refuses to use Batgirl as bait for Catwoman (it was Barbara's suggestion) because "I couldn't put that fair damsel in danger. No, Barbara, leave this to the men."
..yuh huh. (To her credit, Babs goes after Catwoman anyway, but she never calls out Batman for keeping stuff from her and being a sexist dick) (I should also mention this is the episode where Catwoman went on a crime spree because Batgirl was voted best dressed in Gotham. And she messed up all the woman's hair ("NOT our hair! Anything but that! Anything! They seriously said that), to which Batgirl responded "Wow, Catwoman really know's a woman's weakness!")
But I actually had to stop watching on episode where women take over the police force as part of an evil plan or something. It's basically the mayor replaces Gordon with evil chick because his wife won't DO HIS LAUNDRY OR COOK HIS DINNER UNTIL HE DOES HOW WILL HE SURVIVE. Then, though the women the evil chick hires to take the man!jobs aren't evil, they are incompetent due to being women and having all those nasty female bits. They don't prevent bank robberies because they're busy doing their makeup, and talk about shoe sales on the police radio instead of crime and CANNOT CATCH THE PLASTIC WIND UP MICE LOADED WITH EXPLOSIVES because to quote Batgirl (who seemed perfectly okay with the mice herself...as did the evil chick) "I should have known! You can't expect policewomen to catch mice!"
Cut to the police women standing on chairs and fainting over the mice.
I should also note that, as far as I got into the episode, it was an unusual one in that Batgirl hadn't done anything remotely competent. She hadn't been INcompetent, but unusually for the show, she had failed to figure anything out and she'd spent most of the episode complaining. And she'd said explicitly "I'll go with you in the Batmobile. The instruments in my Batgirl-cycle aren't quite as advanced". Well of course. The Batmobile was designed by a MAN after all, the Batgirl-cycle is for a lowly WOMAN. (if I was feeling generous, I'd say this was really because Batman was a millionaire, so obviously his instruments would be better- but this show follows no logic whatsoever, after all, a librarian can afford a secret compartment complete with high tech gadgets and a cycle in her apartment).
That's when I gave up. I know it's a campy TV show from the sixties, but come on.
Sixties Batgirl comics had two sexist stories that I know of, but they were never this bad. Thecomics Babs of that era was way more competent and kickass than TV Batgirl, thought TV Batgirl is enjoyable in her own way. Comics Batgirl at least didn't go out of her way to uphold stereotypes and constantly diss her own gender...other than in that one story, at least. ("My femininity is holding me back!)
I wonder how Yvonne Craig felt about having to say those lines, especially considering she appeared as Batgirl in a "Equal Pay for Equal Work" PSA?
I'm going to watch more episodes though. Adam West is HILARIOUSLY hammy, there are some amazing puns, and I love that Bruce introduces himself as "Millionaire Bruce Wayne" every single time. Way to brag.
IT WAS GREAT.
OH STEPH, I LOVE YOU. YOU TOO BABS.
Seriously, I haven't smiled so much in reading a comic in forever. Screw you, Darrin! You can stop teasing me because this comic rocks!
So lets do our page by page review:
( spoilers and whatnot )

So here we go now.
Batgirl Preview
It tickled me to DEATH that that DKR mutant on the cover is randomly shouting the "What's your scene, baby, we really gotta know!" part of the theme song for Batgirl from the old 1960's TV series. I LOVE that theme song. It's TERRIBLE. I saw it on a youtube video and have been singing it ever since. In fact, back when we were speculating about Batgirl I would randomly include bits of the song in my post titles.
So this really made me giggle. And wonder if BQM is stalking my lj. (I wish! I'd have a list of demands!)
I love the panel where Steph snaps her book shut and is all "you know me, I'll sleep when I'm dead!" That smile! That casual joking around about tragic events! So STEPH! She is a doer, people, and she's always super confident and sassy! Man, I wish I could blow off college homework and kick bad guys in the face and hang with Babs. Steph is living my dreams.
And squee! Thirsty for justice! Babs and her dry sense of humor! You can tell she's enjoying Steph's cheeriness, she's just trying to maintain respectability.
Though seriously, that belt is going to FALL OFF. And I don't know if it's the colorist or inker or Garbett just not drawing Steph as well as he did for the character sketch...but someone's not doing that costume any favors. It's OKAY, but it could look a lot better, as both Noto and Garbett himself have proven.
I'm looking forward to this issue, it looks like a lot of fun, and the Batbooks really need fun right now.
Seriously though, ADDRESS that Steph and Babs still care about Cass and get the Charlie situation fixed. I'm going to repeat this until it happens. If you are truly stalking my lj, BQM, I demand you listen to my...demands! Seriously, like parsi put perfectly in her excellent post why do lovers of awesome female characters have to settle? Why do Charlie and Cass have to be shafted for Steph to shine? Why can't Babs run the Birds and Gotham and the world AND mentor Steph? I love them all, why can't I enjoy them all being friends and teaming up and being awesome together?
Also this made me happy:
"Before Stephanie became Batgirl, she definitely had a checkered past and not the highest success rate of being a hero," said Miller. "The whole world before this comic is saying, 'Stop doing what you're doing. We don't want you doing it.' But Stephanie didn't listen, because she's stubborn in the best kind of way."
so it's certainly something that your girlfriend or daughter might like,
OH NO I DON'T HAVE A GIRLFRIEND OR DAUGHTER WHAT TO DO.
Also from the DC source Miller said: While very much not dead, wearing a goat skull as a helmet in Africa. It might have been a caribou skull.
It was an iba, for the record, which she got from a cairrage of gifts from the village.
Also: There’s no way Stephanie could have taken down a crocodile.
I SAY THEE NAY! Stephanie wins all battles against crocodiles.
Not a stunning resumé, to be sure
I SAY THEE NAY! Best resume ever.
As for the cover, it demonstrates exactly why Steph should put up her hair, and that is one incredibly phallic ship. But apparently that's just how Roxy rolls. But Roxy is an incredibly FUN and fitting adversary for Steph...I cannot wait. Seriously, Batgirl seems to be filling the niche of light hearted, easy to get into Batbook beautifully, and Steph is perfect for such things. *love*
That's all the silliness I have for one night.
Oh frabulous day! Batgirl #3 was mega awesomeness for my Steph and Babs- loving heart. Happy days are here again! As always, I have my complaints, but overall I was very pleased with this issue.
I'm going to try to do what I did last time and do a page by page review, since a few people liked it.
Page 1: Cool, moody opening page that just happens to have a mention of Steph's time as Robin. Hurray!
Page 2: Steph, at least all your college parties haven't been boring. Babs is giving Steph a chance to solve things on her own here, which is the first good sign of things to come. She can't stop Steph, so she's working with her. Her little internal monologue about keeping her alive long enough to kill her is acceptably snarky and again gives me a feeling of Babs/Canary.
Page 3: I really like Steph's trepidation about both needles and Black Mask. Really nice character beats. Also, I LOATHE needles myself. Steph is brave to plunge it in there. Here's hoping Steph conquers her fear of the new Black Mask in the same way and kicks his ass, and we can all watch and enjoy.
5/6: Scarecrow kills thugs, Steph kicks thugs.
7: I lovelovelove the panel where Steph crosses her arms and glares waaaay up at Scarecrow. It's such a Steph pose! She's so small compared to him, but she's totally confident and you know she's gonna kick his ass. Or knee him in the stomach, which she does.
8: Steph remains snarky even while drugged. That's my girl! Scarecrow is disappointed he has a little girl thrown at him, but he's about to find out he can't take her. It's such an old comic book trope, but I love it when the villain underestimates the hero because of her size/sidekickness and then gets an ass whoopin'.
9/10: Ah, the ex-boyfriend of rage. The way Tim's acting lately, he would say that shit too (in fact he has). It's very Steph that Tim's one of her fears- she's always measured herself up to him, and of course, she has issues there. I like that even through the mindscrew torture of Tim attacking her, she still kicks out a him.
11/12: Babs starts to root for Steph and show concern for her. The touching the screen in concern was a nice touch. So was the "We've been here before, haven't we? On the brink of death?" from Spoiler!hallucination. She certainly has.
13/14: Steph starts to break down under all her self doubt. And what's more, Bab's breaks down and calls her Batgirl. I think this is partly what motivates Steph to get her heroic resolve on and wake up- acceptance from Babs at last. I love Steph's expression when she breaks Scarecrow's foot. The pop-psychology stuff she spouts may be a bit stilted, but it's fun to connect it to Steph's situation- she could have become someone else wherever she landed, but she chose to come back to Gotham to make things right. That's what makes her a hero.
14/15: Hell yeah, she's brave enough. You coulda seen the "I'm Batgirl" thing coming a smile away, but I still love it. I love it when heroes proudly shout their names, especially goddamn Batgirls. And Babs reaction is great. Finger steepling and mentory pride ftw!
16/17: Steph pulls a stellar bat exit- no cops push her around! But, unlike Batman, she at least leaves a snarky little note saying thanks (so perfectly Steph...but man, now he's going to have to wash it off his window. What'd she leave it in too, lipstick? I'm going to go with water soluable bat-paint. ) Steph making her Mom waffles is adorable. I love that she's working on her relationship with her Mom.
18/19: Professor Babs is reaching out and helping people! She should be more than an assistant professor but whatever, maybe she's trying not to be conspicuous. Also, like Steph asking for class hours. Shows a bond of respect starting to be built.
20/21: Not sure how I feel about Babs appropriating The Vow. She put her own twist on it, but she should do it somewhere else and make it her own tradition. But I do know I love that Babs is behind Steph 100% and I love Steph's utterly sincere smile when she promised to look out for Babs too. All Steph ever wanted was acceptance: no tricks, no manipulations, no stupid boys club games. And now she's finally got it. She's finally got some sincere guidance. Squee!
22: I love the purple Batgirl coming down on crooks with a huge smile. But, when I read this to Mom, she said: "So she's going to leave her hair out like that?" DC, even Mom thinks it silly!
So great issue, and finally no more angsty Babs! I do have a few issues
* Needs more Cass, but aparrently we can't have these good things so I at least want the Cass issue dealt with, to show Steph and Babs are still looking out for her.
*Babs abandoning Charlie needs to be dealt with
*The pop-philosophy was definitely a little stilted and anvilicious, and the fight was pretty standard- however, this is incredibly minor, and BQM's writing in that regard improves each issue, so...
Overall, a good issue with lots of awesome moments. Can't wait for the next.

The first comment to tackle is this:
From a dramatic standpoint, there aren't many places left to go with Cassandra. Steph's a work in progress.
At first this comment made me angry, but after thinking it over for a few minutes, I think I got what he was trying to say, though he didn't say it very well. Cass is already a competent, seasoned hero. She doesn't really need any training or mentorship (well, except in reading and writing, but since DC's going along with Beechen's idiotic retcon...grrrrrr...) wherea's Steph still has a lot to learn, a lot of areas to improve on and a lot of failure to deal with. I don't think he meant you can't tell a story with Cass- just that you can't tell a hero-in-the-making story, because she's already as heroic as you can get. Especially since he followed it up with "Steph's a work in progress".
Also, he might just be politely saying DC has written Cass into a corner where Batgirl is concerned.
Maybe I'm being too nice, but that's my interpretation.
But there's no excuse for this:
Bruce "saved" her.
Nope, bullshit. Cass made herself a hero way before Bruce came along. She saved herself by escaping her dad. Not to mention BABS was the first person Cass worked with.
He gave her a purpose.
I suppose that's fair. Before Batgirl, Cass was a wandering spirit/hero. As Batgirl, she got a city to protect and a specific mission.
But the really sad news:
While we'll have another passing reference/flashback Cassandra soon, I'm leaving the rest of Cassandra's story to whichever lucky duck gets to write her elsewhere in 2010.
Cass won't be involved in Batgirl? COME ON. She's an important part of the legacy, but even more than that, she's an important part of Steph and Babs life! Steph and Cass are awesome together, there's no way Steph would let Cass fall to the way side. And Babs cares about her too! Disregarding these female friendships is a horrible precedent.
I don't think this is BQM's fault- from his other interview, it was clear he was planning to have Cass reappear until DC decided they're doing something with her- now he has to leave her open for that.
But it's really sad and aggravating for me as a Cass fan. I'm determined to support Steph and Babs, so I'll keep buying the title- and I will support Cass in whatever DC does with her- and if it turns out to be crap and more screwing Cass over, I will protest it as only an angry fan could.
I really want Steph and Cass to work together again. Their friendship is important to me. Hopefully the "flashback" mentioned will at least let us know Steph and Babs made sure Cass was okay before turning her loose to do whatever. She deserved that.
The last unfortunate implication here is how WHITE the whole Batgirl cast is without Cass. Agh, it's so frustrating. DC, you say diversity means something to you, but your Batbooks sure don't show it.
My last quibble is no mention of Charlie in the interview. I really want that to be dealt with. If Babs has a new lease on life, she should take responsibility over how she abandoned another young mentee and welcome Charlie back. Here's how I want it to be dealt with: I want Babs to invite Charlie over, apologize to her, explain that she was going through an emotional breakdown when she left. I want Charlie to get mad, call Babs out on her selfishness. I want Babs to promise never to do a thing like that again and offer Charlie a place at her home. After some soul searching, Charlie can accept. BQM doesn't have to use Charlie if he doesn't want to. We can just see her in the background every few issues at Babs place, letting us know Babs is living up to her promise. Though of course, I'd love to see Misfit interact with and annoy Steph, acting as her tagalong kid while Babs makes sly comments about "how does it feel when it's happening to you, Steph?"
I don't want these female friendships to be forgotten, I don't want Bab's relationships with her previous charges to be discarded. I want some respect for the characters, or I won't be able to believe DC won't burn this relationship too,
To end on a positive note, good things about the interview: Happy!Babs and Steph learning to be a better hero...and team ups! Can't wait!

Also, I sometimes get momentarily get distraught about Steph. I'm seeing a lot of negative feedback about the title on the internet (okay, I shouldn't read the DC source comments) and it only debuted at 51k. Which isn't bad at all if the sales don't experience too steep a second or third issue drop, but I'm afraid that WILL happen. Gah.
I'm not sure if the fact that Batgirl is only selling a little above Red Robin on it's third issue is because there's "girl" in the title (making it unavoidable), hype backlash, or because of Steph or lack of Cass or Silver Age fanits whining.
I just don't understand it. Miller is a relatively new writer and so far he's doing a decent job (I still haven't gotten the second issue yet) but everyone acts like it's the second coming. It's not like he won't improve once he gets comfortable, and IMO, he is writing a better title than Red Robin. Also, consider that both Miller and Garbett were bought in late and had to rush on a tight deadline for this.
Okay, I haven't gotten the second issue yet (I get it today, at work) but I'm optimistic. I've seen the scans on s_d, and there's a ton of backlash to Babs characterization. Well, she's OBviously going to get better and accept Steph as a partner/trainee/whatever which WILL require her lightening up and having fun (even if BQM hadn't already confirmed he was going in this direction, it's pretty obvious from the direction the plots going and the nifty new costume is going to have to come from Babs)
Also, Babs has pretty much always been mean to Steph and disapproved of her thanks to her own issues. I was going to do a post on s_d about their relationship, but I don't have the time. I'll just tell you all Babs disapproved of Steph becoming Robin too (partly because she suspected it was an asshole move by Bruce, but still).
And finally, it isn't like Babs didn't attempt to break Charlie and dissuade her from becoming Batgirl AND Misfit. She did! A little more tactfully, but not much more.
And I don't get what the big deal about "I'll call your Mom" is either. It's a low blow, and Steph acknowledges it. But it's just showing that Babs is willing to play dirty and well, hasn't she always?
I guess I'll just not worry and enjoy the Stephness for however long it lasts. It's a new title, and new titles always need a few issues to get everything established, and it's a new writer too, so I just urge everyone not to judge it and to give it a chance. Remember, DC blames characters for title's failures.
weaverandom she continues to be AWESOME and STEPH in it and it's not doing TERRIBLE (yet), my other fave Cass is safe for now until whatever happens with her in 2010 (which will hopefully not be terrible), My other faves... well, Wonder Woman is in the hands of Rucka and Simone, she's always doing good, Oracle is still Oracle and helpin' out my fave and will hopefully be less angry soon Bart and Max are back (and gonna be written by Sterling Gates!), Huntress has a terrible costume but is otherwise fine, Jaime has his backup and there's tons of titles I enjoy right now.
So I'm content with the comics world right now. I'm not going to worry about the future. DC will probably keep supporting the Batgirl title as long as it does better than 27k or whatever and there's going to be an action figure and like I said, I'm enjoying the Steph and blocking out all the critisism. Screw what the internet says. I'm supporting Steph and Babs and coolness AND YOU SHOULD TOO! And i can't wait to see Steph get some cred. The end.
Off to work....

Also, DC canNOT make up their minds on who killed Steph and who made her Robin. First Bill Willingham made her Robin and DiDio keeled her. Then Johns told us all DiDio didn't want to kill her. Now he did agree to kill her and he made her Robin! Guys, just tell us the truth. She's back, we won't hold it against you.
It's like a murder mystery!
Anyway, it's going to be really hard resisting reading the bits of the new Batgirl issue on s_d. But I must be strong and hold out till Friday when I have the issue myself!
Also, I feel woozy. College has made me sick!
Edit: Apparently DD's official story is: Willingham wanted to kill her, DiDio didn't think anyone would know who she was, so he suggested making her Robin so everyone would know
Edit 2: Okay, I wasn't strong. I looked.

Well, obviously the comment made me weirdly like Steph's costume more, because hey! You shouldn't have to hide your femininity!
BUT, there's also the issue of practicality. Steph is a practical gal. Her Spoiler costume is one of the most sensible costumes out there- and it's awesome. Not only that, but she's always been pretty realistically concerned with what to do with her hair under her costume.
You can see the Super Steph saga for this illustrated in comic, but basically the saga of Steph's hair goes like this:
She mentions in Robin #25 she doesn't know what to do with her hair under the mask (presumably it gets hot and sweaty)
Around...I'd suppose Robin #75, she starts wearing it in a ponytail that sticks out her Spoiler mask.
In Robin #100, she cuts her hair short. and ditches the ponytail. Presumably this change had to do with fitting her hair comfortably under the mask.
As Robin, she first showed up with her hair in a ponytail. For some reason, Batman decides a headband and spikey anime 'do would be more practical. Batman does not know how hair works.
Since her return, she's worn her hair loose under the mask.
My solution to all this? Well, I'd have Steph cut her hair again (mostly because it would differentiate herself from other DC blondes) but if I couldn't do that, I'd have her pin her hair up in a bun under the mask. Like, she simply puts it in a ponytail, then pins it to her head with a simple hair clip. Viola, not more sweaty hair sticking to her neck under the mask.
Obviously that whole thing is moot now. She's Batgirl, and she's got her hair flowing in the wind, for everyone to grab at, to get messed up, to get in the way.
It's not exactly unprecedented. She had her hair loose (cept for the headband) as Robin after all.
And I wasn't really surprised. As soon as I saw that silhouette on the cover, I knew we were dealing with a Babs!cowl. And it was inevitable Steph's costume would play homage to Babs (I was kind of hoping, from the earlier Noto cover, that Steph would wear purple contacts to protect her identity. I could buy that mooks would be too busy staring at Steph's freaky purple eyes to pay much attention to her largely uncovered face).
I can understand why it was done. It symbolizes this is a fun Batgirl- she's open, you can see her expression and face, flowing golden locks show she's perky. It also signifies Steph is under the mentorship of Babs, and is paying homage to her. So I can understand it. Also, I'll say this for the Babs!cowl- it keeps the hair back, away from your face and not in contact with the skin. So it's not like the hair is in the way or uncomfortable (and uncomfortable is a con the Spoiler mask had, as illustrated above) The only danger is mooks pulling her hair, and one of the first martial arts moves I learned was a way to counter that (I have wavy shoulder length blonde hair I like to keep loose too after all- I'm such a whore, right?) Grab your opponents wrist, let your head go the way he's pulling, strike while he's off balance. It's very weird, once you grab the wrist, hair pulling doesn't hurt anymore.
But this doesn't mean I won't miss the practical full face mask. And this also doesn't mean I wouldn't rather the hair have extensions mooks pull off ala Batwoman or have it be in a braid. Braids are easy handholds right? Well, I just finished rereading Tamora Peirce's wonderful book "Terrier"- the kickass midevilstylefantasy!cop heroine Beka Cooper keeps her hair long as her "one vanity"- but she braids it- and she braids a SPIKED STRAP into it, so "any criminal who grabs my braid will regret it."
I read that, and my first thought? EVERY SUPERHEROINE SHOULD DO THAT.
So, I vote Steph do that. If I ever write her, she will.
(In the sequel to terrier, "Bloodhound", we get to see the braid in action. Guys Beka is fighting try to grab it- twice- and their reaction is like "AGH MY HAND" and which point Beka smashes their face in. I love Tamora Peirce)
So those are my rambly thoughts on Steph's hair when I should be doing my homework. Comic reviews forthcoming. Good night.

Look, even a preview page of Batgirl #2 with Babs "doing her thing." Awesome.
This is interesting:
The creative team was brought in after the book had been scheduled and we've been working our be-hinds off and playing catch-up ever since.
That supports the theory DC was considering making Batgirl Babs at one point and decided not to go there and switched to Steph at the last minute. Thank the BatGod they did.
No, actually you didn't, but my homework's done, and I must review this Steph-ish peice of comic.
But first, a public service anouncement:
I've been thinking about this for a while...and I'm still very sad about Cassandra. But the truth is, nobody's written her well, and for so many years, that maybe she does deserve a break. I mean, she's going to need some serious TLC after all this Beechen shit, and for whatever reason, DC doesn't seem to be willing to give it to her right now. Anything they do to her now is going to have to build on the seriously crappy mini, but if they give her a break for a few months, a writer will be able to come in and work around that. Honestly, I'd rather her have a break, slowly reintroduce herself in the Batgirl title later on, and get her cowl back or establish her own identity later, than see her get mangled some more.
And her parting may not have been the best ever, but look at it this way: she didn't get killed off horribly. She didn't get tortured with a power drill. She didn't fuck up, get somebody killed and then quit heroing because she's wracked with guilt. She didn't get shot in the spine. She fought the fight, and when she decided it was time to hang up her cowl, she handed it over to her best friend who she trusts. She got the hell out of dodge before the writers could screw her up anymore.
It could be so much worse. And Cass will be back. I guarantee it. Miller's already said she's reappearing eventually, and while he got her voice pretty off, he didn't do too bad with her , considering he was building on a horrible miniseries. It was really nice to see Steph and Cass fighting together and being friends again, at least. But at any rate, Cass will be back someday, and hopefully with someone who knows how to write her, and actually respects the 70+ issue run of her series.
Meanwhile, Steph is also a character who needs some serious TLC. At least in-universe other heroes acknowledge that Cass is mega-competent (even if she hasn't been acting like it lately). Stephanie, meanwhile, had so much shit dumped on her she became the symbol for all that was wrong with comics treatment of females for a while, and she's been considered nothing more than a screw up by the writers AND other heroes in universe for YEARS, and no writer has bothered to take her beyond that. But it looks like Miller is going to give her some respect, training and hero cred, and that is a freaking long time coming, guys.
Cass has been screwed over. But remember, before Cass was screwed over, Steph was. Maybe they need to fix Steph before they fix her best friend. At any rate, if this series doesn't sell well? DC will blame Steph. They won't blame bad writing, or the fact they booted Cass out. No, they will blame the character. They proved that with the Batgirl mini. And Steph might get worse than Cass got if that happens.
I'm not asking you to buy the series if you don't like it. But just think about it. If you don't like the writing (I think it was a little shaky so far, but Miller has got Steph's voice down and seems to have a promising direction going, and I think he'll get better as he goes along. You may disagree), If you think the series selling well won't stop them from screwing with Steph, or you're too angry about Cass you're ready to go "screw Steph!" , then fine. But I don't want to see two good female characters go down the drain. Cass has a good chance at returning and being written well. Steph might not, if this goes wrong. And if you show interest in this series AND Cass, there's a good chance she'll become a part of the title. Just think about it.
Enough of that. Onto the review!
( Batgirl #1 )
Other comics will be reviewed...eventually. I'm pretty busy! Anyway, good night everyone.

Babs, thank God, is not going to be the new Batgirl, that much is certain. This is completely confirmed by the Batman November solicit:
Will the combined forces of Oracle, Huntress and Catwoman be enough help for Batman?
Babs stays Cyberpunk!
However, she is in the book, so she will probably mentor BG.
In this preview, unless Bryan Miller cannot get character voices right AT ALL, that is way too chatty to be Cass. However, note that in the last panel, a Batarang is thrown at the thugs from an angle the chatty Batgirl could not have possibly thrown it.
Which makes me hope that Cass threw the Batarang and she and Steph are BOTH Batgirl. Possibly Babs is coordinating a Batgirl Corps with Cass, Steph and possibly Charlie switching off in the role. That would make everyone happy. (except for those who wanted Babs!girl) (Meanwhile, my relief it's not Babs!girl almost wipes out all other concerns...almost)
As Scotty points out, the solicits support this idea:
For #2:
As the new Batgirl continues her nightly mission, the mystery of her secret identity intensifies. Now she has become the target of both Gotham City's heroes (who don't take kindly to a new person wearing the cape and the cowl) and its villains (who want to see the entire Bat-family six feet under)!
It's a new look and a new costume for the all-new Batgirl! As crime in Gotham City continues to rise, the newest member of the Bat-family vows to wear the mantle of the Bat and fight alongside Batman and Robin in their war on crime. There's just one problem: She hasn't told Batman and Robin yet!
For #4
It's Batgirl's first night on the job, and as she'll soon learn, it takes a lot more to wear the mantle of the Bat than she originally thought – especially when she has to juggle patrol, the police and a frat party!
I hope very ardently this turns out to be the case, as it seems the only way we'd have Cass still in the cowl.
There is tons of evidence for Steph being either THE Batgirl or ONE of the Batgirls, meanwhile. Looking at the covers, the first one has a background of eggplant, Steph's color. For the third one, Batgirl's EYES are eggplant. The smirk on the first cover is very Steph, and the silhouette on the fourth has something that might be a Spoiler-style legband on Batgirl's leg.
Meanwhile, in the preview, Batgirl is chatty and snarky, makes a Steph-ish style mistake stopping the truck and comments on it, her sound effects are eggplant and she says Boys are STUPID in a way that might allude to recent troubles with Tim.
The final eggplant clue? Check out the cover to The Web. Batgirl's GAUNTLETS are even eggplant.
Like I said, I REALLY want a Batgirl Corps. Because I have mixed feelings on Steph as Batgirl.
I will not pretend I am not absolutely thrilled at the idea of Steph having her own book. She's deserved a mini series for years, and I love the idea I'll be getting a monthly fix of her where she is NOT just "Tim's sidekick/girlfriend/provider of angst." Also, I am all for her finally getting some respect. Her becoming Batgirl might actually get the writers to respect her and let her grow as hero, since it's not a temporary thing like when she was Robin. And she won't merely be an appendage of Tim. She'll be able to be her own character and have adventures that don't involve him, and he can angst off in his own book. She really needs a space of her own.
As much as I love how the Spoiler identity is independent, as long as she is in it, people will probably associate her with Tim and her past screw ups. Maybe she does need to be Batgirl to become a respected part of the Batfamily, instead of just the local whipping girl and screw up. Besides, she can always go back to being Spoiler, or get another identity, once she's done being Batgirl.
Also, she will be in a title where she'll spend lots of time with Cass, Babs and Charlie! It will be like Gotham Girl Power Hour! Instead of being kicked around by Bruce and Tim and told she's not good enough, she's a screw up, etc., she'll (hopefully) be able to cultivate some strong female friendships. Together, they can stick it to the boys club in Gotham (another reason I love the idea of a Batgirl corps. "Screw you guys, we have our own team!" You can't say that dedBruce and Tim don't deserve it at this point.)
And she's going to even GUEST STAR in other books! She's going to team up with Supergirl! SHE IS GOING TO BE WRITTEN BY STERLING G
She was never important enough to team up with Supergirl or meet any cool characters as Spoiler. This is the truth. But as Batgirl, she is, and it makes me squee to think of it.
But, on the other hand, I don't want her to replace Cass. I love Cass, and she's been treated HORRIBLY the past few years. She deserves to still be Batgirl. And there's the very icky implications you get by having the Bat-family's SOLE NON WHITE member booted out of her role by a white, blonde chick (as much as I love said white blonde chick). Also, the white chick apparently gets to show her hair and face off, while the asian chick had to keep it covered. Like I said, unfortunate implications.
BUT, say Steph is Batgirl and Cass isn't. But she's still used respectfully. She's still Steph's best friend and mentor. Maybe she even gets her own heroic identity (I wouldn't blame her if she didn't want to be Batgirl anymore). Well, I'd still buy the book then. I just want Cass to be involved. I want her to be written well.
Since it's Steph, I will be buying this book. But if Cass is horribly marginalized, I will have to drop it. And I don't want to. Because I love Steph having her own book.
And, in case I haven't stressed it enough, what I REALLY want is Batgirl Corps. That way, Steph AND Cass can team up with Supergirl! The thought is so happy making. And Kara will just be confused when the switch off! "Hey, weren't you taller and in a different costume five minutes ago?" "...No." "Whatever."
Don't let me down, DC! Let me have my well written Steph/Cass/possible Charlie team Batgirl! I NEED IT!
(But I won't be able to get to the comic shop 'till Friday. *sigh*

Well, looks like whoever the new Batgirl is, Cass and Steph will be regulars in the title. As long as the one under the cowl is not Babs, that means that this book is a MUST HAVE. It looks like the idea of Babs co-ordinating a team of Batgirls is more plausible than ever. Wouldn't it be awesome if Charlie, Cass and Steph switched off being Batgirl? Best team evar.
Even if the cowled one is Babs, at least Cass isn't being thrown to the wayside. That's vaguely comforting.
If we're going by how the other stuff is arranged, it would look like Steph is Batgirl. (For instance, Red Robin is at the top of the row for the Red Robin title, Steph is at the top for the Batgirl title). I could live with that, especially is Cass is around.
PLEASE let Bryan Q. Miller be good. Please.
Meanwhile, Streets of Gotham doesn't appear to have anything to do with Cass or Huntress, meaning I don't have to get it. DC, you liars. Sad, I was looking forward to seeing how the Manhunter backup was (don't worry, Scotty, I'm planning on getting the trades for my birthday) but 3.99 is way too much to splurge on title about Dick-Grayson-as-Batman-who-is-currently-i
So my pull list looks like this:
Batwoman Detective Comics (3.99)
Red Robin until Steph stops appearing
Batgirl (assuming it's not Babs)
Booster Gold/ Blue Beetle (3.99)
Secret Six
Supergirl
Superman: New Krypton
Wonder Woman
Wednesday Comics (3.99) (weekly)
Runaways (apparently 3.99...If the new run's not good, this is dropped)
Still pretty expensive, but Streets of Gotham being gone relieves some of the cost. If all else fails, I can drop New Krypton and Runaways.
I am SO excited for Batwoman and Wednesday comics. The more I see of both of those, the better they look! I want to have the Batwoman art's babies. So badly.
I've finished my re reading of HP. I forgot how many fangasms the seventh book gave me. Dear God, I love Ron and Hermione. I want to cuddle them both to DEATH. I mean, close to death. Anyway, it's made me think about the portrayal of love in fiction, so I might write a long winded essay on that at some point! Also, I'm going back and editing my old HP fanfic and writing some new stuff. It's a dirty job, but I was fourteen when I last wrote some of that stuff, and there's some good ideas in there that makes me desperately want to fix up and polish the stuff. And rereading the series makes me CRAZY about all the missing moments I should write about. Not to mention, I have my own writing to worry about, I STILL haven't figured out the end for the book I'm writing and it's ANNOYING me.
Mom reserved a hotel for us. We're going to the Heroes Con again this summer! My mission is to stalk Jamal Igle. And TRY to stalk George Perez, though I have a feeling that will be difficult. But somehow, some way, he is signing my Wonder Woman trades and getting pelted with questions. Actually, I don't know what I should ask him. Bluefall, any suggestions? At any rate, there will be much stalking going on. And I'm going to try to find out about Batgirl.

Well, except Deadpool. I know and love enough about him to be offended. But hey, they're making a spin off movie so...
ANYway. Today in Art we just fooled around, but Fuller and I talked comics (remember, Fuller is the fashionable and popular girl who just happens to like superheroes and is good at art. Yet I cannot really be her close friend or anything, because she has a million of them and I do not fit in). She got to do her Senior Exit on Superheroes. I am so jealous. Our teacher demanded we do ours on literature, and apparently comics don't count (I argued that the 80's comics were really wordy. She didn't buy it) I wanted to do it on Wonder Woman and her impact on society! But I had to do it on "The Yellow Wallpaper." Though I did do a comic version of the Yellow Wallpaper for my product! Huh, I should scan that sometime.
But, as I was saying, she had a teacher who was NOT AP so she got to do hers on our four colored friends. And she's dressing like Batgirl for the presentation (She dresses up like Batgirl a lot, actually, I ran into her at Halloween a couple years ago and she was in the costume. It was the same Halloween I dressed up as Steph!Robin. She yelled "Stephanie!" and I yelled "Babs!" and John was like "...huh.")
Actually, we were talking about just that. Here is out conversation:
Fuller: I also saw someone dressed up like Poison Ivy. I gave her a wave and pretended to go into kung fu mode. She gave me a weird look. I was like, seriously? You don't know who I am? How can you be Poison Ivy and not know who I am?
Me: Huh.
Fuller: I should go by the comic store today. The new one.
Me: It's right near my house, I went there yesterday. The guy's nice.
Okay, I actually can't remember how the conversation turned to this, we were discussing sexism in comics for some reason and she all:
Fuller: It was lame. Like the end of Birds of Prey when Huntress was all like "I'm off to teach"
Me: I don't think she...
Fuller: And Black Canary was all "I'm off to raise this kid and get married!" Bleh!
Me: Right, and then that thing with the kid, where Green Arrow made her go away and faked her death and she didn't even get mad at him for that!
Fuller: I know!
Me: Such an ass! Can't believe they made her marry him.
Fuller: And the lady...that lady in red...
Me: Manhunter?
Fuller: Right! She got scared because they planted a fear about her kid in her skull and then she...
Me: She's appearing as a backup in Streets of Gotham.
Fuller: Right, whatever.
Me: But what ticks me off is Babs being all mopey and leaving...they better not make her Batgirl again!
Fuller: Really? I think that would be good. I dunno, that way she could kick ass.
Me: But she's so much cooler as Oracle! And she's like, thirty, she's not a girl! And what about Cassandra, I like Cassandra!
Fuller: I don't like what they've done with Cassandra lately. You know, there was the evil thing...
Me: ...Yeah. *tries to pretend she hasn't been complaining about it on the Internet for the last two years*
Fuller: And then it was like, her Dad pumped her full of evil serum, that made no sense. I was like, what?
Kate (sitting near us): Wow. He's a sucky dad. Whoever you're talking about.
Me: Just a little. Anyway, I know. But, Babs! Cooler as Oracle! Not a girl!
Fuller: I dunno...it's like, she's stuck at the desk job she always hated. You know like in her origin [she means BG: Y1] how the FBI was like "You can't do this because you're short, and a girl, and you should do desk work?" and she was like "screw you, I can kick ass?" Now she's stuck being like behind a desk. Which she never wanted to be.
Me:... huh. *gets distracted by picture I'm drawing*
Fuller [to Kate]: And also, what ticks me off? This new writer who came on and made She Hulk switch jobs! She was this cool and funny lawyer before, and now she's like a bounty hunter, and it's BORING, with some kind of Skrull, who she has some sort of lesbian thing with, well, not really, but you know, actually really. It's really boring. And now it's CANCELLED.
Kate: I have no idea what you're talking about it.
Me: *thinks to myself* Congrats, PAD. You have earned Fuller's ire.
Anyway, that was my wacky comics related conversation with a girl who is not only one of the most popular in school, but likes comics! Take that, stereotypes!
(I don't agree with her about Babs though. At all.)

Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures of the Eighth Grade #6
Pure win as usual. Here's my non spoiler-y review of it, which got link referenced on Landry Walker's own blog!
www.bigshinyrobot.com/reviews/archives/5
But since on this blog I feel free to bring the spoilers, I have to say I lovelovelove the Lena and Supergirl moments. I love how when Lena, psycho mad scientist that she is, when she was confronted with the truth (thanks to Mxy of all people) that Lina/Kara did NOT engineer her brother's defeat, that she was NOT laughing at Lena and was in fact an optimistic kid who was struggling (and how much do I love Mxy's complaint that Supergirl wasn't good for the emotion collector because despite all she went through she always looked on the bright side. Hell YES. Like I said earlier, Supergirl is all about hope. And Landry Walker gets that!) and not only that, but her friend was going to risk everything to save the world- she was able to put aside her prejudice and worry about Linda/Kara and tell her to be careful.
And Supergirl's fight with Mxy was truly awesome. I love how she broke the Kryptonite chains and yelled "And I'm Supergirl, defender of earth!" and how she got the space sidekicks from her fantasies to beat him up.
But another great moment was when Lex and Superman were doing their usual "Let's finish this! "I wouldn't have it any other way!" and about to go at each other- that they both stopped DEAD when they saw Supergirl cradling Lena and crying. It was a great moment for both of them- always at odds with each other, but they both would put that aside for their girls.
And it was a really great moment for Lex too- "Lena is my SISTER, alien. I'm going to SAVE her." Despite all his evil, he cares for his little sister. And his casual "So, I tried to reinforce her hatred and rage, but her mind fought me and she would have died, so I was FORCED to let her forgive the Kryptonians." Oh, Lex. You and your hatred and rage. But once again, he wasn't willing to let Lena die, even if it meant she'd be BFF's with Superman's sidekick. And how he blamed Superman for the whole thing! "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" So wonderfully Lex. I wish we could get this kind of nuanced characterization of him tn the regular universe.
I'm so glad Lena's on Linda's side now, because I really like her as a character. In conclusion, this rocks, Landry's Supergirl rocks, and I WILL CRY if we don't get a sequel.
A BAZILLION OUT OF FIVE!
Power Girl #1
I love Amanda Conner's art! So cartoony and detailed and kinetic and expressive! I love it so. I also love Power Girl's cat.
This was decent writing, nothing special. Good enough to keep me buying the comic, because I like Power Girl and I love the art.
The boob window's been bought up on the WFA circuit lately. I think it's stupid, of course, but I guess I'm used to it so it doesn't really bother me as much anymore. I like Power Girl because she's generally gutsy and fun, and if some guys love her boobies, I suppose that's their right. She's Kryptonian, so it's not like it matters that it's impractical (now I'm imagining someone sticking Kryptonite in her cleavage. Bad brain. Bad brain.) If she's proud of her huge gazonkas, that's fine. We all know the REAL reason the boob window is there is for guys (and girls who like girls) to get their jollies, though, so I wish they wouldn't try to justify it with "Oh, it's the HOLE in my HEART" and the like.
I DON'T think the window is integral to her character, and I hate how much focus it gets, in art and writing. Palmiotti and Gray hopefully won't focus on it much. There was a couple of lines about a guy staring at her chest, but it was while she was out of costume, and sort of like how she just gently tilted his head up with one finger.
When I saw the Adam Hughes cover in the store, I actively flipped through the stack to find the Amanda Conner cover. I thought about why I did this. I decided it was down to two things. One, in the Hughes cover Power Girl has this huge goofy empty headed expression on her face like "duuuuh, I'm teh power girl", while in the Conner cover she's confidently smiling. Also, the Hughes cover seems to have the focus on the boob window as the center of everything, what with her ripping her shirt open, while Conner's cover doesn't seem to focus on it (as huge as it is)
Um, right so. There was also this guy who was obviously set up to be a villian (He also randomly mentioned he thinks women should stick to making babies...I guess so we hate him more and Karen could reel on him for sexism? It seemed kind of forced. Though it amused me to imagine this was actually Dave Sims Karen was talking to) and wacky Ultra Humanite holding Manhattan hostage so he could put his brain in the body of Power Girl! I guess he really likes that boob window! Will his dastardly plot work? I dunno!
By the way, speaking of Power Girl, check out this Youtube video! The actress really does look like her, and though it's kind of long, it seems to get Power Girl's character and it made me giggle in some parts: www.youtube.com/watch

Superman: New Krypton #3
Man,last week was very Supergirl-ish! I say this because Supergirl got to ROCK in this issue.
Kal does his diplomacy thing to calm down the labor guild but when they're coming out, a rogue soldier shoots at the head of the labor guild! But BAM, out of nowhere Kara flies in and catches the bullet, because Kal told her to keep her eyes open. She has the absolute best pose and expression afterwards too (I love you, Pete Woods!) and Kal compliments her and she glows and it's all very cute. I love how Kara's not only getting to be awesome in her own book, but in others. She really is such a joy to read now.
Anyway, then Kal shows off his mad ninja skillz and GL's come. This book continues to be great. I've really been enjoying it.

Battle for the Cowl: The Network.
Oy. Mixed feelings.
Cass, for once, got to be competent. And Fabian writes a good Oracle, she seemed in character for the first time in quite a while. The Misfit and Manhunter parts were decent too.
But. Helena. Poor Helena. Her recent leaps and bounds in character development in Gail's BoP were ignored, and she got to be all stupid and "I am here to be a strawman argument for killing the criminals, only so someone else can lecture me about what a bad person I am!" again. She was a jerk to Cass for no given reason, too. And it isn't like Helena, of all people, wouldn't know how flawed the justice system is and wouldn't realize the death-row guy could be innocent. And she and Babs have been working together for so long, she'd surely take Babs advice on the situation.
Also, Cassandra got to say things like "Your perspective is too small". Which I don't care what Adam Beechen says, Cassandra does NOT use words like "perspective!" Even if she can read and all now, her deal is that she gets her point across with the the least amount of words possible.
Look, if Cass was in character the conversation would go like this.
Cass: Stupid to think I can't cheat. Almost as stupid as your costume.
Helena: Rargh I'm OOC this town may not be big enough for the two of us Oh god who talks like that!
Cass: .... (or, if she absolutely has to speak "Only you think it's so small")
There was lots of mocking of Helena's Jim Lee costume, which I appreciated. I would have appreciated it more if Nicieza didn't seem to have something against Helena, or Helena had tossed out an off hand explanation for the temporary change like "My other costume's in the wash/ battle damaged." The mocking just makes Helena look stupid, when it's Tony Daniel who's the stupid one.

Secret Six #8
This...this was better than Battle for the Cowl and all it's tie ins COMBINED. Bane, Catman and Ragdoll...were so...awesome. Especially Catman and Bane's argument over which of them wanted to be Batman and Ragdoll being Robin "The Boy/Girl Wonder" and his comment that he would be a good Robin because "he likes the costume and doesn't mind an occasional crowbar to the cranium." Also him making everything sound dirty! I love Ragdoll so much.
Just awesome. And gorgeous art from Nicola Scott as always.

Well, off to watch Kim Possible.

Oracle #1:
I bought this comic against my better judgment. As I expected, my judgment was right. The art was pretty though. Did a detailed review here. www.bigshinyrobot.com/reviews/archives/4

Battle for the Cowl: Commissioner Gordon one shot:
Decent enough. Seemed to be typical "Gordon saves himself without Batmans help" type stuff. Nothing particularly awesome. I do adore Gordon though. The art was okay, kind of scratchy.

Wonder Woman #30:
Yay, the Amazons are back! Also, Etta is awesome but Genocide makes her all comatose (she had better not die!) Wondy was an unstoppable badass and Faust was all "I'm out of here". Also, Zeus made Achilles and he was hot and naked. Typical good Gail stuff.
Cheetah seemed to act somewhat OOC (I've read enough of bluefall's posts and rants on Cheetah that I realized this automatically, and expected bluefall to acknowledge it on the internet later. She's infected my brain!), being all afraid of her tail being cut off, so I think she's tricking Diana somehow. Especially since her plan seems way too straightfoward. And according to
Overall, another solid issue.

So, I was just browsin' around TV Tropes when I found the most traumatizing ever. And yes, it was a fanfic. A Harry Potter fanfic. I can't even begin to describe it. Just read this post. Warning, may trigger.
www.journalfen.net/community/the_hms_stf
No, seriously. And that doesn't even begin to brush the surface of the Ron Bashing. Not to mention bashing and perversion of every other character, and perversion of canon in general. And misandry that really circles around to include mysogyny, since it falls into the trope "it's not rape if a girl does it". It's almost indescribable in it's twistedness.
I...don't understand people.
On the other hand, this "HMS STFU" site appears to be like a version of fandom_wank that is solely devoted to stupid Harry Potter fans. Amusing. Figured
All this actually give me an urge to write an HP fic, but I kind of used up all my ideas in the old days.

Also, Sturges will be writing the Blue Beetle back up! And it's ten pages! Hurray!
Come June, I will definitely be getting Streets of Gotham and Detective Comics. Streets of Gotham, because it sounds neat, I like Dini, there will be (hopefully) Cass and Huntress, and I'm eager to learn more about Manhunter. I haven't been able to spare a dime for any of her trades, though I desperately want to, from the good stuff I hear. And because of that, I never got a chance to jump into the ongoing while it was around. Batwoman because it's Rucka, and the art is beautiful looking.
I'll flip through Red Robin and see if it's worth anything at the shop- from the descriptions, it's definitely Tim, and maybe he'll be written decently- I like the idea of him globetrotting to find Batman. And maybe Steph will show.
Judd Winick and Ed Benes on one book sounds like the failiest fail that ever failed, so even if I had been planning on getting that, I'm avoiding it like the plague now. Not interested in Batman and Robin.
I desperately WANTED to get Gotham Sirens, as I like all the characters, but that cover turned me right off. I know a book with those three is bound to have some cheesecake, but Guilliem March needs to get it through his head those are antiheroines/villianesses, not stars in a very soft core porn shoot. I'm not buying a book with that type of art. No matter how good the writing is, having the titular characters showing me their asses instead of kicking ass, not to mention the barbie doll anatomy, will take me right out of the story.
The funny thing is I complained about it on Superdickery when I first saw the cover on the IGN video, they inundated me with good March art, and called me a crazy feminist and all that, and I was like "No, it's that idiotic cover and his idiotic Oracle covers I don't like" and they didn't seem to get it...until the cover came out in the solicits. Then it's all "Oh, I see your point, that's porn-tastic."
So those are my Bat-plans for June. Also, Sean McKeever is leaving TT. I hope whoever places him is decent. And keeps Cassie acting sane. But changes her costume, plzthnks. Though I'm not sure I'll keep buying TT. Ravager doesn't interest me enough to pay an extra dollar. Though I'll check it out.

I also went to Book a Million and finished up Watchmen! As well as several art books and "Watching the Watchmen" and "Philosophy of Watchmen" and what not. I liked it. A bit depressing at parts (well, duh) but overall good. A lot of really nice lines, and concepts, and just all dark and enjoyable. I thought it would be funny if it turned out Silk Spectre I was behind it all. The thought occured to me when she was talking to Nite Owl I on the phone. If it was all a convoluted plan to get Laurie back in costume. Now what a twist that would have been! But the twist they actually used was good enough, I didn't see it coming.
But the most important news of the day is I got a response from Jann Jones! And it was a CARD!
An Astro-boy card, I believe!
( My card )
Isn't that sweet? A card and everything! I feel so listened too, even if the note was vague. I really like Jann. She's good people in my book. I'm setting the card on my shelf.
Anyway, it cheered me up, and I hope it cheered a few of you. Cass is confirmed to be in Streets of Gotham, and that's by Paul Dini, so she'll be in good hands. Looks bad for Babs though. : (
Oh well. They'll realize what a stupid decision it is eventually. As long as Cass doesn't suffer because of the stupidity, I'll stick with it.
Maybe I'll post this at the new noscans_daily place?
