Oddly enough, I haven't run across this on the internet before. Considering Steph got OMGPREGNANT once, it's surprising I haven't heard more internet idiots saying she's a bad person because of it. But this still pissed me off.

He's some stonerish white guy with dreads. If her standards are so low that she'll sleep with him, I find it hard to believe he's the only guy she's had sex with.
I'd argue that dating Tim has only made her more promiscuous. If she couldn't control herself before (as evidenced by stonerish white guy with dreads), trying to stay faithful to a no-sex guy like Tim has probably had a compressed spring effect on her. She no doubt goes off every so often. A dirty weekend here and there.
OH GOD, it couldn't be that she was depressed because her life SUCKED and she wanted to some comfort and Tim was avoiding her at the time? If I had a stoner mom and a criminal dad and a avoidant guy who screwed with my head, I might engage in some sex with the nearest loser to forget my troubles too too.
And I love the epic logic...staying faithful to Tim was just keeeping her WHORISHNESS INSIDE. It is READY TO COME OUT. Ignore the fact she MANAGED to stay faithful to Tim with no effort whatsoever, that she was upset when HE supposedly cheated on HER. And clearly once you have sex, you are ADDICTED TO IT and can never give it up. It like, boils inside you or something.

Y'know what, Steph could have all the sex she wants, and it still wouldn't make her a worse person or a bad Batgirl. She'd just have to remember to use protection (and get over her Dixon-implanted issues with abortion, in case that doesn't work.)
Because guess what? Being sexually active isn't bad. Even casual sex isn't even if you're responsible about it and consider people's feelings.

Yeah, I only posted about it because it was the first time I've ever seen Steph being berated for getting pregnant, and I wanted to make my position on slut shaming clear (as if people couldn't have already guessed)
I always figured Steph was pretty casual about sex in a standard low-self-esteem teenager way - I certainly never got the sense that whatsisface was her first or that she had much more commitment to him than he did to her - but if having sex made you a less qualified crimefighter and hero I think the DCU would be pretty fucking screwed, no pun intended, so.
I can't see her having had any since she hooked back up with Tim after the pregnancy, anyway, either. She obviously wasn't sleeping with Tim, and even if she were interested, being responsible would probably have been hard out of a free clinic in rural Africa (and no way would Steph ever not be responsible after having paid such a high price once already). And now that she's back... she's still obviously not sleeping with Tim. Damn. What a slut. -_-
Let's see how many DCU capes I can name who are canonically bigger sluts than Steph has been shown to be, by number of partners...
In no particular order, other than the order they pop into my head: Starfire, Nightwing, Oracle (remember, she "cyber-did it" with Ted!), Batman, Arsenal/Red Arrow, Green Arrow (Ollie), Catwoman, Holly Robinson, Huntress, Grace Choi, Speedy (Mia--remember, she was a prostitute for a while), Fire... and this just off the top of my head. And without even going into the antihero and villain ranks (Knockout, anyone?).
Considering that the whole "no sex before turning 18/marriage" thing is entirely an artificial social construct, anyway, I think Steph's sexuality is quite healthy and normal. She was honestly plenty mature enough to make the decision in the first place, and she handled the consequences in an entirely mature manner.
As for being irresponsible about sleeping around while she was in Africa, considering the rate of HIV infection in some parts of Africa is actually above 50%, I suspect that Leslie would have told her that she'd have to pry a doctor's shoe out of her ass if she had sex while there...
Not to mention his thing for villianesses...
