Just for the record. Watching it fills me with joy. Everything is so RIGHT.
Like Supergirl. She is awesome. Tough, smart, funny, badass and positve...goddamn it, DC, that's Supergirl.
I love Hawkgirl too. And Flash, he is so adorable. And I generally don't like Wally, because my first exposure to him was New Teen Titans, where he is boring and emo. And I hate how he treated Bart. I know he's hard to deal with, but GROW UP, Wally. You're the adult here!
But Flash in JLU is pure love. You've got to love a guy says hi to everyone in his city and inquires about illnesses ect. while running along, PLAYS DARTS with his villians (the soft kind) and...oh my god, he is awesome. I think I have a crush.
The only thing they got wrong is Wonder Woman. She's all angry and boring and..TV Tropes said it best.
The DCAU generally gets high marks from fans as Adaptation Distillation, but one of the rare exceptions is the JLU version of Wonder Woman; there's very vocal dissatisfaction among her fans about a lot of how the character was handled, starting with discarding most of the important parts of her origin (the Contest, her mission to man's world, the latter being inverted to make her an exile), and her personality; it's rather difficult to see how an intelligent warrior-diplomat known for empathy and grace turned into an angry, uncultured brawler who prefers punching out TV screens to listening to people who disagree with her).
It makes me sad.
Other than that, I am just sharing my love.

Thing is, she's not actually a bad character. She'd be a great translation of, say, Artemis. As Diana, though, she sucks pretty damn hard.
It's truly stunning how much *better* Batman is than in the DCU proper, though, and the whole thing is worth it solely for that, even if the rest of it weren't so incredibly strong.
As for Wonder Woman, JL/JLU pretty much was my introduction to the character in the first place. Maybe I need to go back and re-watch all the episodes on order, but on an episode-by-episode basis, she never bugged me.
As much as I like the idea of Wonder Woman, I've never been all that interested in her as a character. I'm far too bat-oriented in my comic-reading habits--I think I just have a hard time getting into superpowered heroes for some reason.
I am going to be picking up the next two issues of WW, though, because of the movie storyline (which I assume was inspired by the whole WW movie flip flopping). I am definitely going to get the direct-to-DVD WW movie that they're putting out next year, though.
I wish they would make a Supergirl animated series with her older and moving to another city to go to college or something :D
