In which I show off my con sketches and talk about all the cool shit I bought and saw!

I went crazy getting Steph!Batgirl comissions this year. Here they are!

First of all, I got Todd Nauck to sign all the random issues of Young Justice and TTG I bought. AND THEN I MADE HIM DRAW STEPH FOR ME because he was only charging 30 dollars. Anyway, the result was awesome.

My other favorite comission is from Dean Trippe, who only charged ten bucks. A total steal! I asked him if he would draw Steph and Cass together as Batgirl, but he said he had to charge extra for that so I changed it back to just Steph. He told me he wasn't the biggest fan of Steph's new costume and asked if he could fix it up a little, and I said he could do whatever he wanted. When I came back to get the comission, I found he DID in fact, draw a little Cass in the background! Isn't that the ginchiest?

I also got another commission by Erika Moen, who did the Super Girly Top Secret Diary thing. This was early on in the Con when I was having a hard time finding a reasonably priced commission, and I decided to get one from Erika because I'd actually heard of her name through my linkblogging, so I thought that would be cool. To be honest, I'm not sure I should  have gotten this. It felt a bit overpriced considering the amount of effort she put into it. But it's cool, so here it is.

I also got to have some stuff signed by Tim Sale! Man, was his line long. But I got there early, so I got to get a free quick sketch from him. I just asked for Batgirl...and found out Tim Sale apparently has no idea what Batgirl looks like (any of them). Which is odd, but I pulled out the copy of Brave and Bold #33 I had bought for Cliff Chiang to sign and he sketched it. Even though he used Babs for reference, we'll pretend this is Steph as well.

And finally, a free sketch I got from some poor guy who's name I've completely forgotten. I should have picked up his card or something.

So yeah, mad Steph swag from the con this year! It was really awesome to meet Todd Nauck and Tim Sale. They were both really nice, especially Nauck. Cliff Chiang was also super nice, and I got Cully Hamner to sign the Batgirl variant cover Scotty sent me, so awesome!

There were some truly SWEET deals on trades too, so I got a buttload. I will attempt to list my purchases:

Showcase Supergirl
Nextwave trade #2 (I searched the whole con for the first one, couldn't find it. Guess I'll have to get that at full price somewhere)
NYX: No Way Home (I read this series when I was working for BSR- it was the only comic by Marvel I was able to understand. Despite not completely getting it, I loved the art and the characters. So it was steal at five bucks)
X-23: Target X: (For 3.00. I liked the origin comic of hers Chris gave me so many years ago, so I thought I might as well get this)
X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga
Wolverine First Class: The Rookie (I wasn't going to get this, but the guy was all like HAVE IT FOR TWO DOLLARS so okay)
The Amazing Spidergirl: Whatever Happened to the Daughter of Spiderman?
Superman: The Wedding and Beyond (yay Clark and Lois!)
Buffy Omnibus 5
Buffy: Panel to Panel
The trade where Buffy meets Fray (Time of Your Life, I think)
I also got a Buffy poster! And a Dexter poster for Dad.

I also got the "Never Learn Anything from History" book from Kate Beaton so she would sign it for me and draw a little pirate. Which she did! I'll scan that in sometime. Kate Beaton is awesome.

Also, I got to see some of the Death Note plushies I was rambling about on Twitter in real life, especially the one parsimonia thought Light looked like Edward Cullen. I sort of wanted to get it, but I had spent all my money and it was overpriced. There was one very weird little statue where you could change chibi-Light's face from "adorable"( seriously, it was like ;DDDD) to evil >:D to  chillin :). It was very disturbing.

Anyway, that's my con swag post. I'll do a third installment of this report to briefly go over some things in the panels and whatnot  I missed before, but now you guys know I have plenty of comics to read and pretty pictures to frame, so life is good.

I love the Todd Nauck comission the best. He always had a great style that worked really well with Young Justice.

I'm glad to hear that this part of the con went well for you, and those were some good pics you had there. Wolverine First Class, those comics, are some good, fun stuff, and you'll greatly appreciate them, I believe.

Oh man, Dean is a badass! I like his take! He's always a great designer. It still feels like a fresh, badass Steph but also a cool homage to her mentor and friend.

I have no idea? I just recognized her name is all. It's a shame if she is.

Just one of the many fallout reaction posts to the comic (also includes the comic).
When called on it, Moen screened and disabled comments and made no comment of any kind whatsoever. As far as I know, she still hasn't.
